We welcome group visits by parties of all types whether from primary and secondary schools or adult organisations. Such visits can engage in a variety of activities: school project work relating to the town’s history, a guided tour of the museum dealing with its history as a model Bridewell, its links with transportation to Botany Bay in Australia and the history of Wymondham, including the story of Robert Kett and Kett’s Rebellion, and brushmaking.
Alternatively a talk can be provided by mutual arrangement on one of the topics listed above or on a number of other topics from Wymondham’s history. Some groups like to combine visiting the museum with a conducted walk around the town to learn about its fascinating history.
Our tea room provides refreshments including tea and coffee, cakes and snack lunches. The museum shop sells a wide variety of books and pamphlets relating to Wymondham’s history and a range of interesting gift items.
Special terms are available for group visits and school parties by prior arrangement for groups of 10 or more. Evening visits can be arranged.
